it has been one month since my going back to China for year end holiday... yes, very relaxing, tones of delicious food to eat, but yet a bit boring... i am not a person accustomed to long holidays. honestly speaking, i want to have school days~~~~ my fellow classmates in China are all having lessons.. so no time to meet. recently i was sleeping, eating, dreaming, watching tv, getting online and contacting with other PRC vips in Nanjing. hope you all have a more interesting holiday than me.. but i know that i will miss this holiday much after the school begins again in January.. so~~lets make our best to enjoy this holiday~ btw, an early greeting to everyone.. Merry Christmas^_^

time flies...it is only a winking that the exams have gone. next week we are going to get back the results...god bless....my roommate says that if we can live to finish next week we will have longevity...

nvm, forget the exam first. exciting news! our juniors have arrived!!! this time the guys are all very tall. there is one who is 1.88m! we brought them to nearby areas and our school these days and they will be starting having english lessons next monday. looking at them, recalling the first time we came to singapore one year ago, i feel that the one-year time is so short that it seems to be yesterday. however, it also feels so long that it seems to have been a century. time is a magic thing. it is always going at its own pace, not waiting for anyone or leaving anyone behind. [hopefully these sentences do not have so many grammer mistake..]

rivision time!

the exam is coming~the exam is coming~~the dark period has come. i know there is brighness in front waiting for us, but now...it seems a bit desporite. my rivision is on going. but seems not that good. i started bio first and after we got the exam scope, i was hurt..then i did maths, physics and chem, which i did not have much feeling about the rivision. after all, although i did not feel very safe about all that has been done, i more or less finished the science and maths part. and here comes the most horrible time.. time for LA and ss... i remembered that on Monday when miss toh came into the classroom, the first setence she said was that if you havent started on rivising ss, you are in major trouble. now i have only two weeks left...although we can call it half a month, its literally short! and i have the two major troublesome subjects to deal with as well as the unsafe feelings left by the sciences. anyway..things have to be done, and exam will come on oct and be finished on 12th no matter whether i am prepared or not. therefore, let me relax a bit. settle down, and do the rivision with the most bravery i can ever possess. come come, library is waiting for me...

ca2 result

today is a happy day because the holiday will begin tmr~ however, today is also a dangerous day because our ca2 marks come out.. fortunately my result is quite ok. but i still have many area to improve. actually although i get higher than ca1, i feel that i was not as in mood as ca1. the subject i did not do well is physics. i did not do well in the practical test and also the project. however, i think it is ok because at least i know where to work on. ss and LA also can be improved more. for LA, i did not really feel that i did better than ca1 especially the assignments on censorship. maybe i am not that sensitive to this kind of political and social topics although my final mark is higher than ca1 (which is quite wired again...) after all, i conclude that i should not be satisfied with my ca2. there is still the end of year exam which is 40% of my year result waiting for me. Yes, i must begin to prepare for the exams! however, let's dun forget the holiday~ have a good slacking holiday and therefore i will have energy for the coming exams~ joy comes first~~~[dun want to do the web folio...]

indiE venture week

this week is very special, we did not have formal lesson for the whole week. instead, we chose two subjects to focus on and did a project on relavant topics. i chose the hair raising affair on maths and chem. ( which most of the PRCs chose..yes, we are scared of LA and ss...) it was a quite fun experience to just do one project for the whole week. we went to various salons and found out the procedure & ingredients of hair rebonding. i also cut my hair! for s$20 plus... i spent three days in the S&T centre to conduct experiments. and after all we finally managed to come up with our home rebonding kit! however.. besides the conclusions on our project, i also managed to conclude that i dun like to conduct experiments... but thats just a small tiring part~ the whole indiE venture week was full of fun! Mrs koh once asked me whether i regreted choosing maths and chem. it is more of research and experimentation compared to LA PHY and SS BIO, but i never regreted because through this week i really had a taste of being a small scientist~ look forward to next year's indiE venture week if there is any

now~i shall go back to hostel and have a good sleep! next week we will have a two-day holiday of teachers' day. and the week after next is the time when we can really relax and get ready for term four~~yes! the holiday will come! however, there will still be many things going on during the holidays..so, grab the time to slack and sleep! rest is everything...

yeah, we are struggling in the sea of projects. the deadline of bio and maths projects are waving to us. many of my friends seem suffered a lot. i am quite happy that my group members are well bonded and our work is going on under our plan. from these weeks i really feel that team work is super important! even if everyone in a group can do very well individually, if they dun noe how to work together, they still wont do well. yup, thanx my dear group members~hope we can work on well~~

yup yup, these days many of my friends and classmates got ill. take care ppl!! at this tough time, we cannot be bothered by cold~~~remind everyone to take medicine and drink more hot water. compared to the last week, this week is actually quite ok because we dun have tests or assignments. so we do more on our current projects and the IM survey..yes, we finally managed to finalise our survery yesterday. next week will be very happy~coz its national day. monday will be national day celebration, and we will have holidays on both tue and wed. that means we only have two days' lesson next week. HOWEVER, week 8 is the deadline of our two projects, so we have to work during holidays or we will kill ourselves in tons of work in week 8! yes, week eight will be quite a tough week! but dun worry, since we have managed to come over week 5..the sun is always there with us^_^ oh, by the way, i will get my painting stuff on 08/07 from my China friend who will be traveling to singapore. so happy~~then i can paint down the beautiful seashore and sky outside my window~~~look forward to it@_@

a few days ago, miss low gave us a bloody table which shows all the deadlines for assignments and projects of term 3. most of us were scared...yes, we have a scary number of deadlines each week especially from week 6 to week 8. and after week 10 what is waiting for us will be the end of year exam..god bless~anyways, life still goes on. there was once a great person(dun noe who he is) said that"if u can handle the difficulties in ur life, then can u become a great person". i dun want to be such a great person! but i have to learn to handle the homework in order for me to have a nice holiday...so~~just do it..

first week of formal lessons

the first week of our formal lesson has just passed by. it was quite a tiring week because we had two tests as well as the VIP open house. As to open house, it is the first time for me to involve in such a big event. my job is to propagate the Imagineering Programme. the first day was quite slacking but the second day was tiring and i repeated the same thing again and again for there were really many people. at the end of open house, we did mess dance. the atmosphere was high and i think it influenced all the people there. it is a successful open house consisting of our efforts. the ss gave me a little shock last week. because there are even more wordy notes unexpectedly. but, nvm, i think we will get used to it soon and do better. this term we are also going to have two projects and several tests. its gonna be a quite tough term yet with quite a nvmber of holidays. no matter how it will be, look forward to it.

helmsmen week 3

yes, another helmsmen week. today we finish our third helmsmen week which is about career building and personal development. the first day we went through a workshop which teach us how to get on well with others. its all about EQ which i think is very important for all of us. the following day we attempted talks about parents and BGR. they are quite intersting especially the play. i think it really reflects the situation of many families in the contemparary world. the last two days which is yesterday and today we went to experience about service learning. it is a very fresh word to me and i never had the chance to do service learning in China. we went to IMH and the Singapore association of deaf to visit. to my surprise, their environment are both very nice. i think i would like to be the volenteer of SAD if i have time. i like sign language because we can use them to communicate quitely. it's a very pleasant way of expressing ourselves. actually i dun think the deaf cannot do better than us at all. on the other hand, i think we have a lot to learn from them. the sign language is a good example. overall, i spend an enriching week at the beginning of term 3. the formal lessons are coming. wish us all the best in the new term!

back from the japan trip

yeah!~just came back from the japan trip~~the trip was quite interesting and fun, although we faced some problems during the trip. when we climbed the maint FuGi, it rained and we all got wet, cold and lost. at that time, i was also very cold but i was not afraid coz i know i must calm down and be brave to encourage others. i realise that if we are brave and always have a positive attitude towards the problems we will be able to make it. maybe it is the most valuable thing that i have learnt during this trip. we also experienced the spirit of innovation in japan. the sony building, the goods in shibuya. i know why japan can have such a strong economy. the disney land is also fun. however it is main for children so most of the things are quite childish. but those kitch are really cute!!!!i bought a lot of presents for my friends and parents in disney land.
tmr!!!!!!!!!tmr i am going back to China!!!!!!!yeah! my holiday will formally start from tmr! i think i will enjoy myself in the one-month holiday. wish u all a good holiday!! see u all when school opens again!~~~

soccer and ss and japan trip

yesterday, i went to support our soccer team which we all expected to win a full day for us. but we lost. the match was very exciting, and we lost in the final shooting competition. although we lost, it was still a great fight and i think the match was very much worth watching. sadly, because the failer, we lose our full day also. today we had our lessons as usual and tmr!!!!we r going to have the ss test!!!!!!it is said that the test is going to be very difficult. i have no idea what the notes r talking abt and dont even noe whether i will have enough time to finish the test coz i was short of time in the physics test today.
however, the life is still bright! after tmr, we are going on the japan trip on sunday!!excited! but i am more excited on the back to home in 10 days' time.
since tmr is the last day on which we have to suffer a lot, let's overcome it and enjoy our journey and home on the following month(although there is still a reader assignment and IM website waithing for me to deal with...)!

CA1 result

today our CA1 result is out. actually it was out many days ago...i got a quite ok result which is 74.8 overall. this term, my Maths and science helped me a lot. but my language arts and ss were still not good. to addition, my biology needs improvement also. in ca report, the teachers give me quite good comments. i am very happy to see my efforts to be appreciated. however, i know that i still have many things to improve. english is still my barrier especially while giving presentations. this result is not an end. it is just an encouragement to give me confidence to achieve my goals. the way is long. i will continue with my smile and hope. Let's start!

sports day!

today is the first sports day i have in vjc. it is also the first time i realise that there are so many good runners in our class! v13 rox!!
we also had sports meeting in China, and the atmosphere was as high as here. it seems that people around the world are all enthusiastic in sports and competitions. the only different is that down here, we have different housed instead of different classes. it gathered different classes so that we can have all the cool cheers~~~! Aquila was the "noisiest" house today. i think it was because that most of our cheer leaders were girls~Aquila girls rox~~
i like to watch ppl run because it is very beautiful. sports competition is art. sadly, i am not good at PE, so i can only cheer for u guys~ but nvm, let's keep up the sports spirit!

financial literacy

zezeze...haven't come to post for such a long~~~~time..since the earthquake or the LA test? hahaz. nvm, forget it. this week is quite a relaxing week because we are doing the Helmsman Programme again! this time, the topic is financial literacy, a dry topic..however, the teachers have put in a lot of effort into this week and we have a lot of fun although some of the lectures cannot be fully understood and...sorry, i felt sleepy in some of the lectures. my favourite activity is the praxis as most of us i think. this game is very much like a computer game called "millionaire" in China i think most of the students know that game. it is also a financial investment game and i used to enjoy it very much. from the game in our programme, i learnt many about the finance such as stock, savings, and retirement plan! that plan is super cool! i am considering to have a retirement plan in the real life..and the most important thing learnt from this week is to save before i spend..en..i used to try to save but never succeeded before. now i know the reason and am confident of myself! by the way, what i want to add is that how to save is a lesson to learn. however, meanwhile, to learn to spend and enjoy the life is also important!
next week the ca1 report will come out..good luck to everybody!!!!!
and next week i will jion the 16's group!!!~~~~~ye!!!happy birthday to myself~~

earthquake..~!!

sorry for not updating my blog these days, coz there seemed to be nothing interesting happening...oh oh, this Tuesday i experienced the first earthquake in my life. actually, it cannot be considered as an earthquake lah, but coz all of us never expected this kind of disaster to happen in Singapore although its neighbours have earthquakes frequently, jut pretend that it is an earthquake...anyways, it's very interesting that night. that night, i was helping my PRC friends from Chinese society to sell their drama tickets. and because of that, i stay very late(at least to me) until midnight. then, gradually, i felt that i was shaking or moving. at first i thought that it was because i was too tired, but after a while, i realised that my clock and the lights were all shaking! my roommates then all felt that and we was wondering if it was an earthquake..after i went out of my room and saw boarders living in the eleventh floor running down, we finally realised that it was earthquake. then we grabbed our wallets and ran all the way down the hall. ten floor!!~~~okie, it's better than today's training...then, all the boarders came down, and waited in the dark for about fifteen minutes. after that, everything calmed down again and we went back to our rooms. that day i didn't sleep well because we heard that indonesia(i don't think the spelling is correct) had 8.5 degree earthquake and were discussing the earthquake until about 2 a.m. however, that day was exciting and fun!~~but, when i was running down the building, i felt that oh, i can also be so close to the disasters..then i suddenly had a feeling that i wanted to go home..but, never mind, everything is going well now, and not many ppl were affected by the earthquake that night. don't u think the post is crappy and dull... oh,yeah, today is the fools' day, happy fools' day~~[sometimes we should learn from fools]

the March vacation

time flies~with our first ss test, the first term ends. as to the ss test, i have never had this kind of ss test before, and i could not finish the test in time. anyway, this is just the first test, should not be discouraged. this week language arts also gave us a surprise test on metaphor and all those stuff. it was not as easy as the privious one coz i could not understand some of the word. we also had our first presentation. yangyi got 35 marks in the presentation, cheers~ i got 32 marks, and i think i can do better next time. yesterday, miss toh told us to sit down and think about the term which had just passed. i think it was a very enriching term and i learned a lot in this term. my english has improved and now i can get on better with my classmates. we had a few tasks and assignments this term, and i put a lot of efforts in dealing with them. overall, i think i have tried hard in the first term and have had some achievement. now, after waiting for such a long time, the march vacation finally comes~~~we are all very happy and i am going to spend one day playing with my friends. HOWEVER, there is also a lot of hw. that means i cannot be totally relaxed during the holiday. after the one-day rest, i will have a three-day co camp during whicn i will be practising guzheng. after the camp, i will fall into the hw. hopefully i can finish my hw b4 term 2. and i heard that term 2 will be very busy and tiring because all the assignments, projects, tests and activities will come out, so..come on! have a good rest to get ready for the coming term 2.ohohoh!!!tell you a exciting thing! we are going to have a learning trip to Japan in June. we are going to Disney, fugi and many interesting palces. actually besides Singapore, i have never been overseas before. so although it will make me go back to China later and my purse will become deflated, i am still very happy and desirous of it's coming. at the end of this post, let's wish ourselves a good holiday! cheers~

today is the second time i have the Olympic Maths competition training. we have the training with the J1 & J2 seniors and we cannot understand some of the symbols & problems in english, so the training is a bit hard for us. but we all have the spirit of discovary and challenging! so the harder it is, the more interested we are in it. now i find maths more and more interesting~~! come on, participants! let's go and climb the mountain of Olympic Maths!

good stress and getting ready for lessons

today during the psl session, zhi hui mentioned about "good stress", which i think is a very good phrase. that means we need some stress to make us more motivated. now our homework and all that has come out and all of us can feel the stress more or less. it is good for us because if we are too relaxed we will not get the mood of study. and sth abt last week's ss lesson. i think we really have the problem of being too self-absorbed. we must learn to be sensitive about the time and get ready for our lessons earlier. if we don't try to be focus on our lessons or don't manage our time better the consequense will be terrible; not only ss lesson but also other lessons. so from now on, let's try to be more focus on our lessons and get ready for the next lesson before the teacher comes into the classroom. today we have done a little better and keep it up!
HOEVER, it doesn't mean that we should lose the SPIRIT of V13, let's keep on being ACTIVE! V13 WILL ROX ON!

week 7----homework increasing

It has been 7 weeks since school started. the homework is getting more and more...sometimes i feel a bit tired coz i must spend much time on writing the reports and reading the stuffs. but it's still not too bad with me coz i have experienced the high school entrance exam in China..it's even more horrible than now. now the main problem is still language and if i can speed up my reading things will be better coz there are really much handouts and research for me to read thru.oh, sth abt the imagineering. it's cool!we are doing the national identity and our group's discussion is going on very well i think. i heard that there would be more projects and homework coming out in the following weeks. hope everyone could cope with the hw and i must go and read the addition reading materials of ss.

self-direct learning

have not posted for quite a few days..cos my mother came and we are staying in a hostel where i can not get on line covenerently.our second week's lessons have started and homework is getting more and more.in the last few days,i found there is really much self-direct learning in our study.for example,how we have our bio lesson is extremely different from China.the teacher don't talk much in the class.most of the time,we are doing experiments or discussion among our group members.we don't actually study the text book in class,but study it and do further research on certain topics after school.this requires us to do self-direct learning efficiently.we can learn much knowledge and master many learning skills if we do our reading and research after school regularly.this requires our high self-control.at the beginning,i may find it hard and can not do all the research cos of my language skill limitation and the new way of learning.but i am now trying hard to adapt for self-direct learning.i believe i can do well in the future if i really put my effort to learn.cos my mother is here these days,i may not be able to do my study in time,but i will try to cope with this situation[including the language art reading task]

the formal lessons

yesterday we just started to have the formal lessons.i think they are also a lot of fun!the class is very active.it's very different from China.in China we just listen and write down what the teacher said,but here,we learn from the activities and group works.actually i have learned quite a lot on PH,CH and MA in China b4,so the only problem with these three subjects is the languag...but i think i can catch up very fast.the main problem is language arts!i find that i still regard it as a foreign language.i must switch my mind and learn it just as i learn Chinese in China.it's very difficult for me cos i grow up in a Chinese-speaking environment.but i will try my best and i have confidence in myself^_^just now we had our first formal bio lesson.it's interesting!but it require us to read after school.the self direct learning is a very important part.it will be a problem for me again cos of the language..anyway,i will try.and i am quite interested in bio and all the creatures,so the language problem will not be a obstruct.our ct has come out.though i am not in the ct,i am quite happy cos i believe the ct members will lead us to build a rock v13! now i am going to have the immagineering lesson.today's lesson is a lecture.mother will come tommorow!!!

Today I went to the zoo to have our changing context.Actually I have been to this kind of wild zoo b4 in Beijing.They are a bit different bcos the Beijing one don't have so many big tropical plants.
Actually I am not so interested in zoo becos I think no matter how open it is it's still a zoo,controling by human beings...Anyway,the trip is fun and I enjoy myself with my classmates.Now~~this whole interesting week is going to end......I really enjoy myself this week and learn many things(though the way of doing things is a bit like kindergarten)I will miss Chad,the lovely man~~~
Next week is full of mysteries----the biology(look forward to Miss Low's formal lesson),the social study,the language arts(Mr James Koh~~~) and the Chinese~~~(still curious what we should go to the China Town for...)
Hope next week is still fun!

the innovating and thinking programme

This week we are having the innovating & thinking programme.I think it's quite interesting and we can learn to think from the activities.Tomorrow we are going to the zoo and see how they solve their running problem.I am very exciting becos I have never been there b4 and I look forward to the woolves there.There is very few such activitis in China except the spring and autumn outdoor activity.Every time we had that activity I got very excited and always could not sleep,but in Singapore,especially in the IP programme it seems common to have such activity.Today I met a senior and told her about the trip.She was shocked and said that we are extremely lucky to be in the ip programme.I think so.
Tomorrow we are also going to finish the first session of the I&E programme,and will begin to have the formal lessons in the fourth week.Good luck to all of us!
